After becoming part of the St. Joseph School faculty in 1970 as a fourth grade teacher and continuing in that position for 30 years, I am now the school librarian. I enjoy working with all the students from preschool to grade 8, teaching them library skills and introducing them to books and authors. I also have worked to build the library so that it now has over 20,000 books.

I was born and raised in Northern Kentucky, attending St. Augustine Grade School, Notre Dame Academy, and Northern Kentucky University, from which I received my B.A. and M.A. in Education. My family has a long connection with St. Joseph School: my husband began attending the school in 1955; his brothers and sisters continued to do so until 1971, my first year; and my daughter attended from 1987 to 1995. In all, we have been associated with the school for over 60 years.

In 2009 I was recognized by the Diocese of Covington when I received the A.E.S.A Teacher of the Year Award.  Previously, I had been honored as a nominee for the Great American Teacher of the Year in 2008, a recipient of the Learning Links Grant from The Greater Cincinnati Foundation in 2006, NCEA Commendation for 30 years of service in Catholic Schools in 2002, listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers in 1996, and was named recipient of a grant from the Education Alliance of Northern Kentucky in 1992.

I have enjoyed teaching many generations of students at St. Joseph School and hope to continue to do so for many more years to come.
