I joined the full-time faculty at Saint Joseph School as a First Grade teacher in the fall of 1985 and moved to Second Grade in the fall of 1991.  I began my teaching career with the Diocese of Covington at Saint Paul School where I had taught grades four, five and six.

I earned my B.A. in Education with an endorsement in Kindergarten and my Masters in Education with a Reading Emphasis from Northern Kentucky University.  I also have a Continuing Level of Religion Certification.

In 2005 I won the NCEA Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award and in 2004 the Diocesan Outstanding Catechist of the Year Award.  I was selected for inclusion in the Who's Who Among America's Teachers 2005/2006 because of a former student recommendation saying I made a difference in his or her life.  I had a teaching idea published in Today's Catholic Teacher.  I was interviewed for an article about using a teacher assistant effectively, which was written by Judy J. Harris in the magazine Momentum

I have served on and chaired many committees in the school over the years.  I am a Eucharistic minister and taught PREP for the parish for many years.

Each year I create a learning environment that focuses on cooperation, mutual respect and acknowledgement of student differences.  I hope to stimulate, motivate and create an interest in learning that will take my students through the rest of their lives.  I especially enjoy preparing the second graders for the reception of the sacraments Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist.  I excitedly look forward to a new beginning each year bringing new challenges, hopes and opportunities.
